Ready4Living – Supported Living in the South East

Trusted support for independent living.
Ready4Living is a welcoming supported living service for vulnerable young adults aged 18–30 across the South East of England. We work alongside people with autism, learning disabilities, behaviours of concern and mental health needs, helping them to live safely, confidently and more independently in their own homes and communities.
Our approach is different from traditional care. We focus on building skills, confidence and real choice, so each person can do more for themselves, at their own pace. Support is flexible, respectful and person-led – from daily routines and social activities to managing emotions and planning for the future. Families and professionals can feel reassured that we are a steady, trusted companion, always aiming to improve quality of life while keeping each person at the centre of every decision.
Ready4Living: Trusted Companionship for Independent Lives
Ready4Living provides trusted, consistent companionship for people who want to live more independently while feeling supported, understood and respected. Our companions are familiar faces who visit regularly, build genuine relationships and work alongside you, not on you. Together, you plan what matters most in your life – from getting out into the community to building everyday skills and confidence – so that you stay in control of your choices and your routine.
We are not a care agency. Traditional care agencies usually focus on tasks and time slots, often doing things for people in a set way. Ready4Living is different: we focus on doing things with you, at your pace, in the way that feels right for you. Instead of a rota of different staff, you see the same companion regularly, so trust and understanding can grow over time. Our role is to encourage, enable and stand alongside you, helping you to make your own decisions and live the life you choose.
Companions can support you with many aspects of daily life. This might include going shopping together, planning meals and learning to cook simple, healthy dishes step by step. It could mean practising using public transport so you feel confident travelling to college, work, social groups or appointments on your own in the future. We can accompany you to medical or professional appointments, helping you prepare questions, remember information and feel more at ease while still keeping you in charge of your decisions.
Social connection and emotional wellbeing are at the heart of what we do. Companions can join you in hobbies and interests – such as going to the gym, visiting a café, attending a club, walking in the park, or exploring new activities in your local area. At home, we might support you to manage paperwork, organise your space, build routines, or practise independent living skills like budgeting, time management and self-care. Throughout, we offer calm, respectful emotional support: someone to listen, encourage and problem-solve with you, without judgement.
Because we are not a care agency, there is no one-size-fits-all package. You choose what you want support with, when visits happen and how your time with a companion is used. Some people prefer regular weekly sessions focused on specific goals, such as learning to travel independently or building confidence in social situations. Others value a flexible mix of practical help and companionship, knowing there is a reliable person they can count on. In every case, support is person-centred, strengths-based and designed to increase your independence over time, not create dependence.
Ready4Living is for people who want more than task-based care – they want a trusted ally in everyday life. Our companions walk alongside you as you navigate challenges, celebrate progress and build the skills, confidence and connections that make life feel meaningful. With Ready4Living, you stay at the centre of every decision, gaining the support you need to live the life you want, in the way that feels right for you.
